Mrs. Verlee Denmon Shelton was born to loving parents, Juanita and Joe Denmon in Corpus Christi Texas on August 31, 1942.

Verlee attended elementary school in Sydney, Nebraska and then relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas. She attended Solomon Coles High School and graduated as valedictorian in 1960.

Verlee received her Bachelor of Science Degree as LVN at Delmar College. She began working as a Surgical Nurse in 1963 until her retirement in 2008.

Verlee was president of the Junior Mission at St. Matthew Baptist Church. She led a Life of service where she served her church and community. Verlee led the clothing ministry at St. Matthew Baptist Church as well as at Bridge of Life Church.

Verlee enjoyed singing, gardening, garage sales, cooking, shopping, and discovering new restaurants. She will be missed for her contagious laugh and giving heart.

Verlee is preceded in death by her parents Juanita and Joe Denmon; and her son Donald Shelton II.

Verlee leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband, Donald Bernard Shelton Sr., daughter Vanessa Shelton, son Dwight Shelton, and daughter/niece Traci Pettis (Sylvester), granddaughters Cayla Shelton and Cydney Shelton, great grandson Kadence Sanders, brother Alvin Denmon and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
