Tommie Lee Douglas, Sr., 71, passed away on September 7, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on September 17, 1953, in the same city he called home throughout his life, Corpus Christi, TX. Tommie's journey was marked by faith, service, and a deep commitment to his community.
A proud graduate of Roy Miller High School in the Class of 1972, Tommie went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps. His time in the military reflected the discipline and dedication that would define much of his life.
Tommie was a devoted member of St. Matthew. Missionary Baptist Church, where his spiritual life flourished. He attended services and church functions faithfully and was known for generously volunteering his time and energy to support those in need. His unwavering faith and compassion left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is remembered with love by his oldest son Fabian Douglas; brothers Marvin Douglas, Michael Douglas, Terry Fusilier, Aaron Fusilier Jr., and Alonzo Fusilier; and sisters Myra Davis, Stephanie Iszard, and Cene Phalencia Renee Douglas. Tommie also leaves behind numerous grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy.
Tommie was preceded in death by his beloved mother Phyllis Marie Fusilier; father Marvin Douglas Sr.; son Tommie Lee Douglas Jr.; grandson Tommie Lee Douglas III and former wife Emma Ruth Douglas.
A man of kindness, generosity, and deep religious conviction, Tommie touched many lives through both word and deed. His presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Service will be held on September 17, 2025, 1:00 PM at St. Matthew Baptist Church 1101 Waco St.
The Burial will be held at the Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery at 3:00 PM
