Roy Neal Tipton, 88, was to Austin David Tipton and Oma Edwina Tipton on August 01,1933 in Robstown, Texas and was one of seven children. He attended elementary school in the Robstown School District and later attended high school at Solomon Coles in Corpus Christi, Texas where he sang in the school choir. He married Shirley Tipton, the love of his life, on October 31, 1962 and were married for 59 years, and two daughters, Patricia and Lisa were blessed to that union.
Music was his life, and he had the opportunity to play with well renowned singers like Percy Mayfield, BB King and others. He also formed a band called the "House Rockers". Roy Neal was the last member of that band.
Roy became a member of the St. John Baptist Church in 2006 under the leadership of Dr. Derrick E. Reaves, Senior Pastor. Roy served as a one of the musicians in the Men's Chorus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ralph Carli, Allen, Rudolph and one sister Louise Tipton. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Shirley Tipton, daughter, Patricia Tipton, sister, Pauline Tipton, Grandson, Sephton Tipton (Jessica), Bethany Tipton, Mother of Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the St. Johns Baptist Church, 5445 Greenwood Drive.
