Rosemarie
Martin
Sep 10, 1962 — May 25, 2024
Rosemarie Martin was born on September 10, 1962, in Refugio, Texas, to the late Ernest Gene Martin Sr. and Rosemary Martin. Marie was the oldest of four children. She was educated in the Corpus Christi Independent School District of Nueces County. Marie's primary school years were at Shannon Jr High School where she was popular, especially playing on the Girls Basketball team where she received the nickname "TINY" due to her taller height, and her shorter teammates. Marie participated in track and field as well. In 1973 Rosemarie gave her life to Christ Jesus at True Faith Baptist Church under Pastor Willie Z. Terry. She later joined St. John Baptist Church as a teenager, under Pastor Harold T. Branch. In the years after her schooling, she moved to Houston, Texas and while there with the father of her children she gave birth to Lowell Harvey, Sherry Lynn Harvey, and Derrick A. Martin. After her separation and upon returning to Corpus Christi she had three additional children Jeremy Coleman, Jeffrey Harvey; and Erica Lacy Barrett (Dallas, Texas).
In later years of her adult life Marie faced many struggles however because of her faith in Christ she always pressed through them regardless of the outcome. During these times of hardship in life, she had to move in with her mother, Rosemary Martin, and remained there until the passing of her mother.
In 2024, Marie began attending and worshipping at Believe Church located in Corpus Christi. Upon becoming part of the Believe Church Family, she attended regularly and spoke of how she enjoyed going there for worship and praise. Every opportunity she wanted to be at church and spoke highly of the membership and how they welcomed her with love. Marie enjoyed music, movies, doing her hair, sleeping in her spare time, and cooking when she had to. As the New Year 2024 came around Marie began to focus on her life and new things started to take place with a new career and home. In January of 2024 upon several medical examinations, she was diagnosed with stage four Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer. In the months following treatments, doctor appointments, and hospitalization the disease began to progress aggressively, and her health began to decline. Marie never gave up on her faith in Jesus Christ and was determined to be strong and push her way through this battle as she always did in her life struggles.
On Saturday, May 25, 2024, Marie was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. With several of her children (Jeremy, Lowell, and Sherry Lynn) and grandchildren (Christopher, Morgan, and Keshawn) with her at the hospital she peacefully went off to Eternal Rest.
Rosemarie is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Gene Martin Sr. and her mother, Rosemary Martin, her brother Paul Allen Martin.
