Obituary

Robert Cage, Jr., was born May 31, 1931, in Moody, Texas, McLennan County, to the late Robert Cage and Emma (Sneed) Cage. On Saturday, March 18, 2017, God called Robert home.

He was married to Mamie Bell Kellough and to this union five children were born. He served in the U.S. Army, worked for Reynolds Metal Company and retired after 38 years.

On November 11, 1981, he married Lois Williams Bonner.

Deacon Cage served as an usher and later was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of the late Dr. H.C. Dilworth, Jr., and continued to serve under Bishop C. E. Richardson, Sr. He served in many capacities of the Church, Chairman of the Staff of Deacons, Finance Committee, Trustee, Brotherhood, Sunday School, sang with the Mighty Men Male Chorus.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his ex wife; four brothers, two sisters, and his step mother.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Lois Cage, two daughters Inette Poindexter (Robert), and Sharon Denise Cage, three sons Ronald Cage, (Gail), Robert Carl Cage and Stanley Cage; two stepsons Chad Bonner (Lisa) and Chet Bonner (Celia), One brother Rev. Frank Cage, Sr. (Ethel); two sisters Aline Lott and Louise Cage, two sister-in-laws Clara Cage, and Rachel Cage, grandson, Dantee' Cage, step granddaughter Emorie Bonner and a great grandson, Jaron Cage.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary First Baptist Church, 2906 Carver Drive. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2017, at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
