Obituary

Robert Carl Cage was born Sunday, July 10, 1960, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to the late Robert Cage, Jr., and Mamie Kellough. On Saturday, March 13, 2021, God called Robert home.
He was a 1979 graduate of Foy H. Moody High School. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Brother Cage served under the leadership of the late Dr. H.C. Dilworth, Jr. and continued to serve under Bishop C. E. Richardson, Sr.

Brother Robert Cage was very loyal and supportive to the Lord, to the Calvary First Baptist Church Family, and to Pastor C. E. Richardson, Sr.
Brother Robert served the Lord and Calvary Church Family as Chairman of the Calvary Transportation Ministry. He drove the church van, and many times he drove his own personal vehicle, to transport our members to and from church. Brother Robert felt that it was also part of his ministry to drive for his pastor.
He drove Pastor Richardson to state conventions, to District Association meetings, to worship services out of the city, and on personal trips. He also drove his dad, the late Deacon Robert Cage, to many church functions, family reunions, and family visits out of town. He traveled and drove many friends up and down the highways.
The Calvary First Baptist Church Family was greatly influenced and impacted by Brother Robert's faithfulness, dedication, nice personality and helpful hands. He will be greatly missed by the Calvary First Baptist Church Family and the Corpus Christi Community.
Brother Robert Cage is preceded in death by his parents, four uncles, two aunts, step grandmother, Sis. Versie Cage Taylor and his step mother, Sis. Lois Cage.

He leaves to cherish his memories his two sisters, Inette Poindexter and Sharon Denise Cage; two brothers, Ronald Cage (Gail), and Stanley Cage, all of Corpus Christi, TX; one nephew; one great nephew; one uncle, Rev. Frank Cage, Sr., (Ethel) of Austin, TX; one aunt, Alene Lott of Corpus Christi, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He also acquired an extended family from Sinton, Texas - the Lara Family: Johann and Ben, their children: Cross, Yulissa, Gavier and Xtacie, who was like a daughter to Brother Robert. Also included are his buddies from Golden Corral, his favorite place to eat and meet with his friends, Otis and his wife, Twenty, Fred Davis, Ymelda Benavides, Bobby Whiteside, Reggie Mumphord, and other friends.
