Oscar E. Southall, Jr. was born on February 1, 1944 in Corpus Christi, TX. He was the youngest of three children born to Oscar Southall, Sr and Irene Miller-Smith.

Oscar passed away on May 31, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Rae Neal Dorn, his daughter Tasha Southall, his great grandson Aidan Jackson, and his great nephew Jordan Harris.

He leaves behind his ex-wife Kathleen Southall, his children Karla Jackson, Myron Southall, Tracie Wallace (Quincy), Courtney Southall, his sister Sally Jean Mitchell, his brother in law Huey Dorn, his nieces and nephews Walter Dorn, Karen Harris, Sharon Royal, Terry and Ian Brooks, 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grand children.
