Nena Kay Foster-Pope was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on
October 14, 1955, to Haywood Foster and Ruby Lee Mitchell.
Nena attended high school in Corpus Christi. She worked at an
early age as a dietitian supervisor, she enjoyed getting together
meal plans and meals for the elderly. Everyone who knew Nena
knew she loved listening to her music and dancing, she made her
own party. Nena loved her daughter and family to the fullest.
She is preceded in death by her parents Haywood Foster and
Ruby Lee Mitchell, her son Broderick Foster, Siblings Pamela
Foster, Christopher Mitchell, Don Foster, Sr., Denise (Chubby)
White, Sheila Taylor, Velease "Lisa" Mitchell-Denmon, two
nephews Craig (Tweetie) and Trey Siverand.
Nena leaves to mourn her husband James Pope, Jr., daughter
Chiffon Hopkins of Ingleside, son Daniel Vasquez (Liz) of Corpus
Christi, and grandson Broderick, Jr., siblings Sharon Simmons,
Thomas Mitchell, Jr., Ricky Mitchell and Jackie Mitchell; host
of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and two special great
nephews, Lil' Trey and Skylar Siverand.
