Moline Jackson Nevels' Obituary
Moline Jackson Nevels was born November 17, 1923 to Percy and Jeanie Jackson. She was one of four sibling, all who have preceded her in death; Percy Jackson Jr., James Albert Jackson and Betty Murphy.
She accepted The Lord at a very young age at Grove Island Baptist Church in Teague, Texas. After moving to Corpus Christi she joined St. John Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the Women Mission, Sunday School, Fellowship Choir, Women Choir and Other Auxiliaries. She was married to Fred Nevels for 53 years who preceded in her in death 2010. Moline graduated from Furney Richardson High School in Teague, Texas. After moving to Corpus Christi, she worked at Spohn Memorial Hospital as a Nurses Aide, After retiring in the late 1980's, she volunteered with the Auxiliary at Spohn Memorial, where she was the President from 1997-1998,until health failed her. She loved volunteering and she loved and cherished her grandchildren;
She is survived by her children; Travis Dixon, Vernon (Jeri) Dixon, Rose (Jesse) Green, Gloria (Paul) Williams, Brenda (Alvin) Whitaker, Myron Dixon, Raymond Dixon, Ronnie Nevels and Michael Nevels; 23 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church with Pastor Derrick Reeves Officiating.
Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
