Leon M. Henderson Sr. passed away on July 20, 2016 at the age of 69. He worked for the Corpus Christi Community Action with the Corpus Christi Police Dept. Leon served on the HALCO Board, was assistant coach for the Soul Sisters softball team and his son's Little League team. He was a Mason, and a member of Calvary First Baptist Church. He retired from Citgo Refinery after 25 plus years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnson Rydolph and Margaret Davis Keys, and brother Dennis Henderson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 52 years Irene King Henderson, son, Leon Mark Henderson Jr., daughter, Cathy Yvonne Henderson, 3 grandchildren, Shamika Henderson (Jeremy Brazil), D.J Gray (Tracee) Qua'Nisha Gray, Great grandchildren: Shya, Kandence, Romeo, Brenden, Irian, Q'Mareon, and Zakari, 2 brothers, John and Leonard Henderson Sr. (Marie) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday July 29, 2016 at 11 a.m at Calvary First Baptist Church with interment to follow at Community Cemetery in Refugio.
