Kelly "Pete" Arkadie passed away on July 5, 2015 at a local hospital at the age of 80. He was born on February 13, 1935 as the fifth of six children to Charlie and Carrie Arkadie of Yoakum, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Harold, Lester, Melvin and Robert. He professed his faith in Christ and was baptized at Beth Elder Baptist Church.
He graduated from Asberry High in Yoakum, Texas and faithfully looked forward to its reunions and to return to his hometown. After graduation he persued multiple career opportunities. He attended Barber College and later served as a barber in the U.S. Navy. Future opportunities allowed him to attend Del Mar College and earn culinary skills which he put to use by traveling as a merchant seaman. He was later employed by Corpus Christi Army Depot and retired as a machinist with 27 years of service. He achieved so many things during his life span with no regrets; taking advantage of everything that the world had to offer. In his pastime, he enjoyed gathering with family and friends, playing dominoes, sharing his thoughts and opinions. He never met a stranger.
In 1969 he married Katie Ragland and they remained husband and wife for 46 years and to this union, one son was born, Derek Lee Arkadie.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Katie, sons, Derek and Kelly C; daughter, Charles Etta Turnage, sister, Charlesetta Lucas of Louisville, Ky., grandsons, Kelly Jabarie Arkadie, Shawn Turnage, Derek Arkadie II, Noah Turnage and granddaughter, Jaikeira Arkadie.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
