Jose "Joe" Leija passed away on April 6, 2024 and leaves behind joyous memories. Joe was born on December 12, 1947. He was a skilled laborer with a passion for flooring up until retirement. He is known for his sense of humor, making the best out of every situation and living life to the fullest. Joe loved watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. There wasn't a pepper spicy enough for his tastebuds!

Joe is survived by his children Bryan (Julie) Leija, Terry (Julian) Leija, Crystal (David) Figueroa and Ashley (Chris) Trevino. He will be missed by his loving grandchildren Savannah Lee, Bryanna Nicole, Ryan Jay, Juan Ricardo, Nayeli Nori, Gabriel Xavier, Arabella Grace, Adalynn Rose and David Figueroa III. He also leaves behind his sisters Sylvia Romero and Lydia Rodriguez and brothers Leonel Aleman and Gustavo Hernandez.

Joe is preceded in death by Diana Leija, his mother Santos Aleman, and sisters Irma Perez and Letty Aleman.

Please join his family for a final farewell on Saturday April 20, 2024 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, 5026 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78405. A viewing is set for 11am with services to follow at 12pm.
