Johnnie Mae Hoodye's Obituary
Mrs. Johnnie Mae Hoodye (Scott) died peacefully on January 8, 2016 in Corpus Christi, at the age of 90. Johnnie Mae Hoodye was born on December 15, 1925 in Austwell, Texas to Alpha and John Henry Scott. She was a devoted wife, mother and loyal Sunday School teacher. She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Hoodye Sr., son Johnny Hoodye (Lavern), son Dwight Hoodye, brothers, Richard Scott and J.J. Scott, sister Myrtlean Scott.
Johnnie Mae is survived by her children, Dorsey Ann Allen (Martin) of Houston, Texas, Marion Kay Hoodye of Corpus Christi, Texas, Katherine Walker (Henry) of Houston, Texas, Clarence Hoodye Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas, Carl Bruce Hoodye of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Gerry Hoodye Sr. of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. on January 15, 2016 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, with a Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Service will be held on January 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John First Baptist Church with Pastor William L. Pullam. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
All are welcome to attend the service celebrating Sister Hoodye's life. A reception will follow at the Oveal Williams Senior Center. Condolences may be left at www.heritagememorialfh.net.
