JoAnn left us to be in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 29, 2015. She was born November 21, 1938 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Thelma Franklin. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband Bertram Jackson, her mother, Thelma Franklin, her brother, Roy Franklin and her son, Bertram Jackson Jr.
JoAnn graduated from Solomon Coles High School in 1958 where she was Homecoming Queen. She enjoyed being an athlete, playing basketball, tennis and she also sung in the Solomon Coles Acupella Choir. JoAnn enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and attending sporting events. For those who knew her, she just enjoyed life. She was a dedicated mother, hard worker and a true example of strength. She was the rock and glue to her family and cherished by all.
JoAnn leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Charlotte Williams (Charles), sons: Darrel Jackson, Michael Jackson (Sandra), David Jackson (Lissa). Three granddaughters, Nicole Collins, Shaye Carpenter (Abram) of Fort Worth, Tiffany Cardenas (Jose), one grandson, Darrel Jackson of San Antonio, sister, Debra Franklin, eight great-grandkids, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Westhaven Baptist Church.
