Obituary

Jerry Jackson was born on February 3, 1948 in Lampasas, Texas and passed away July 5, 2016. Once a Bear, always a Bear, he graduated from West Oso High School in 1966. Jerry was an accomplished athlete and received a scholarship to play football at Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas, graduating May, 1971. He had an accomplished career working with Texas A&I University, City of Austin, Austin Community College, Capital Metro, and the Texas Department of Transportation.
A true renaissance man, Jerry showed a talent for art, design, and a pure love of music. His favorite pastime began with VROOM, VROOM. He loved classic cars and riding motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidsons. He attended bike and car shows through the years and even competed professionally. His home reflects his love of design and home improvement. He worked part-time for Home Depot and taught home improvement to young children on the weekends. He loved everything music and participated in several ventures to showcase different artists and music groups. He created JAM'N-J Productions to channel his love of music, and encouraged his Daughter's musical pursuits throughout her life.  He was  proud to be a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Jerry is preceded in death by his Father Rev. Willie Harris, and his Brother Fitzgerald Harris.
Jerry was a loyal friend, a devoted Son and loving Father and Brother. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his Mother Margie Harris of Corpus Christi, TX; Daughter Candice (Philip) Jackson Honaker of Austin, TX; and Brothers Charles Ray Simon of Corpus Christi, TX; Will L. Jackson of Schertz, TX; Willie Earl Harris of Corpus Christi, TX; and Donnell (Sandra) Harris of Austin, TX. He also leaves behind an Aunt, Velma Rose of Houston, TX; Godson/Nephew Donnell Dylan Harris and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.  He was also looking forward to welcoming a grandson, due September 7, 2016.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, TX.
