Jarrod Wade Tillis, 53, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on July 27, 2025. He was born on March 28, 1972, in Corpus Christi to Henri Mae Tillis and Joe Abram.

Jarrod was a loving and devoted son, fiancé, brother, bonus dad, bonus grandpa, and uncle. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Abram; his maternal grandparents, Ollie and Lizzie Lawrence; and his bonus son, Dwayne Johnson.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Henri Mae Tillis; his fiancée, Linda Balzaldua; his brother, Terry Tillis, and sister-in-law, Lori Celeste Tillis. He is also survived by his beloved bonus children and grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who became family.

Jarrod graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1990. In his younger years, he enjoyed bodybuilding. He found joy in drawing and painting. He had a natural gift for creativity and self-expression. Jarrod also had a servant's heart—he was passionate about helping others and making meaningful connections in his community. Because of his outgoing spirit and magnetic personality, he was affectionately known as "Mayor Tillis" by many who admired and loved him.

Jarrod's warmth, humor, and presence will forever be remembered. He made a difference in the lives of those around him, not through grand gestures, but through his everyday kindness and genuine care for others.
