Inez Smith McVeay, affectionately known as "Aunt Sissy," was born June 10, 1923 in Mexia, Texas. Aunt Sissy, one of fifteen children, was born to the union of Mattie Lou Smith and Morris Smith. Aunt Sissy moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1943. She departed from her earthly home on December 19, 2016. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Aunt Sissy leaves to cherish her memories: her baby sister, Johnnie Marshall; a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Public viewing will be Friday, December 23, 2016 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church; 1101 Waco St. 78401 Corpus Christi, Texas at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
