Horacestein "Jackie" McConley, born on May 2, 1953, made her transition from earth to heaven on February 12, 2015 and she now rests sweetly in the arms of Jesus. After 41 years she retired from the Corpus Christi Independence School District. She graduated in 1971 from Foy H. Moody High School. She was a faithful member of True Faith Baptist Church and The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her mother, Ada Lee Rivera, significant other for 25 years, Mr. Harold Evans, one son, Michael Wayne McConley, daughter, Shauna Nicole McConley, siblings, Frederick A. Rivera Jr., Priscilla (Ronney) Heslip, Grandchildren, Dariyan W. Green and Desiree R. McConley, great-grandson, D'Marri D. Patterson, nieces, Kimbra L. Heslip and Nakia (Troy) Butler, nephew, Stafone Cannon, great nephew, Darius J. Heslip and great niece, Daya M. Heslip.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at St. John 1st Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
