Gloria D Mcchester's Obituary
Gloria D. McChester, 68, passed away on January 25, 2015. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 30, 1946 and graduated from Solomon Coles High School in 1966. Then she attended Del Mar College where she received her LVN license and worked at Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital for over 30 years. Later she retired and opened her own business, Shalom Decorative Center. She spent the remaining years enjoying her family and touching many lives.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents; John McKinley and Jennie B. Barnes, her second father; John Lawson Sr., husband, James McChester Jr., sisters, Dorothy Cozine and Alberta Earls.
Gloria is survived by her Nina Lawson who raised her, children; Michelle Bobet McChester and James McChester III, sisters, Nina Lawson and Johnnie Mae Jones and grandson, Dequin Huff, her godchildren, Rita Hurte, Kenitra Austin, Jorell Austin, Latanya Smith, Sheryl Williams, Angela Rodriguez, Yvonne Scott, Larry Beasley, Dorathy, Larry and Chris Hysaw, Shedrena Greenwood, Ebony Robinson, Chanda Huff, Shellen and Shay Porter, Michael Joseph, Daniel Munoz,and Krystal Henderson along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
