Mr. Gary Lamont Stonum was born November 24, 1959, in Corpus Christi, TX. To Mr. and Mrs. Harvey and Mary Nell Stonum. He heard the voice of Jesus call him on September 7, 2023, and he answered that call.
He graduated from Foy H. Moody High School Corpus Christi, TX in May 1978. While in high school Gary worked for Ship Ahoy on the Bay under Chief George Hamilton. He later followed Chief Hamilton to his own restaurant Hamilton's Hungry Lion. Once Gary completed high school he went to work for Sun-Tide Oil Company working in the mailroom. He later became employed by Southwestern Bell (AT&T) where he held several different positions and traveled as he moved up in the company. His last employer was Daniel "Apache" Ramirez and Joe Guajardo Handy Services. Here Gary worked as a Landscaper and Carpenter.
Gary worked well and diligently with his hands, which was something he really enjoyed. But Gary's passion was cooking, he really enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Gary was a good neighbor and friend in the community, and he cared about his neighbors and community.

Now to my loved ones (family) and friends, thank you for always being there for me. A special thank you to my Parents (Harvey and Mary Nell Stonum). Always remember to live life to its fullest. Live, love and laugh with each other while you can. Because my work here on earth is done, and I must crossover to the other side now. I know you have faith and hope in Jesus. I know you know He cares for you. Never be afraid, in God always trust. He sees, hears, and knows what's best.
