Obituary

Edna Jackson was born April 29, 1942 in Lexington, TX. She entered Heaven's gates on November 30, 2015, at the age of 73.
Edna was devoted to and guided by, her faith in God and her love of family. She served as the President of the Deaconess Board and President of Business and Professional Women Association at Greater Shiloh Church of God in Christ. A role model to many, she was dearly beloved by her family. She leaves a legacy of being instrumental in bringing her family together for 40 years of annual family reunions. She was a well-respected early childhood professional with an Associates in Applied Science degree and a Bachelor's of Science degree. A trailblazer, she worked tirelessly in the community on behalf of children and families for 40 years as the Executive Director of Greenwood Molina Children's Center. former President of Bay Area Association for the Education of Young Children and former board member for Texas Association for the Education of Young Children.
Edna is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Viola Thomas, her daughter, Roxane D. Jackson and great-grandson Michael Trae Jackson.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert Jackson, 5 children: Danny (Lisa) Jackson; Lyndon Jackson; Sherry (Steve) Peterson; Robert (Angela) Jackson; Terri (Walter) Young; 18 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 04, 2015, at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 05, 2015, at Cornerstone Church.
Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
