Donald Dwight Parker, 86, of Corpus Christi, TX,
was called home on February 28, 2020.
He was born in Manhattan, New York on June 4, 1933. A Veteran of the United States Air Force, who while stationed in Laredo, Texas met and married Raquel Parker. Donald was a jack of many trades: a retired fire fighter, a truancy officer and owned a detailing shop. He was a member of Christ the King Church and had a passion for music, family, wrestling, and especially dancing. During his time as a truancy officer and beyond, Donald was a pillar in the Molina/West Oso Community. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Affectionately known as "Big Poppa", he loved spending time with family, friends, grandkids, great grand kids, and even great-great grand kids. Big Poppa was a man of honor, valor, and great character. His legacy will continue to shape and influence the lives of others for generations and generations to come. Donald Parker truly had a heart of gold. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, De'Andrea Raquel Rouwtt. Donald was survived by his wife, Raquel Parker of Corpus Christi, TX, daughters Melinda Dixon of San Antonio, TX, Nora (Willie) Hodge of Dallas, TX, Helen (Michael) Sullivan of Corpus Christi, TX, and Michele (Michael) Parker of Corpus Christi, TX.
He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home from 5pm-7pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home at 11am followed by the burial at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery at 1pm.
