Donald Craig Guillory was born on September 11, 1955 in Fenton, Louisiana. The first child of Annie Mae Trahan Guillory. Starting life in the home of his beloved grandparents, Alphonso and Alphonsine Trahan, Donald was baptized at an early age. Throughout his life, Donald would journey back to Greater Saint Joseph Baptist Church. Quiet as a boy, Donald preferred being home and drawing pictures.
Art would become Donald Guillory's lifelong passion. Donald spent numerous hours perfecting his sketches of Mickey Mouse for submission to newspaper contests. One of Donald's cherished mementoes was a prize from a Walt Disney sponsored fan contest. After graduating from Emery High School, in 1974, Donald studied Art at Laney College in Oakland, California for two years. Switching gears, 20 year old, Donald Guillory went on to work for IBM as a painter for eighteen years. Upon moving to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1994, family members prominently displayed the individual portraits Donald drew of his mother and sisters over the years.
It was during his employment with IBM, Donald Guillory met Shirley Oliver. From this relationship one son was born, Craig Guillory. Proud to be a father, Donald Guillory sought ways to support his son even in death.
Donald Craig Guillory departed this life on September 26, 2025 surrounded by family. He leaves to cherish his enduring memory -- his son, Craig Guillory and grandson, Deion Guillory. Both of Oakland, California. His sisters; Paula (Demetric) Randell, Pamela and Patricia Trahan of Corpus Christi, Texas and one brother, Michael James Guillory of Corpus Christi, Texas. Four nieces and four nephews. Host of cousins, other family members, church members and friends.
He is preceded in death by Sidney E. Guillory, Jr. his Mother, Annie Mae Guillory, a son Don'te (Guillory), his sister, Brigitte Denise Clophus. and one nephew, Gary Cooper Flowers Jr.
