David Vaughn Thompson Sr., born June 10, 1968; Sunset October 9, 2020.

David was born to loving parents Dixie L. and E.L Thompson in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was the second child of that union. David was a part of the True Faith Baptist Church family under the direction of his maternal uncle, Rev. W.Z. Terry. There he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized. He was an active youth who loved to help his father and uncle take care of their horses and his own mare, Golden girl.

David graduated from Foy H. Moody High School in 1986, where he was a member of the Tennis team. A year later he joined the United States Army and eventually completed his service with a (non-combat) role in the First Gulf War. David married Precious Williams in Corpus Christi, and their union produced his first child, David Jr. A few years later, David's blessed family would grew as his union with Tyann Johnson would produce a daughter, Dominique, and a son Deionte. David's family grew to completion when his union with Laura Chapa produced his youngest child, Danelle.  David was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, and his former spouse Tyann Johnson. He is survived by current spouse Laura; his four children, David, Jr., Dominique, Deionte, and Danelle, his grandchildren Devyn Thompson, D'Vaughn Thompson, his brothers Alan Thompson (Frances) Sugar Land, Tx., Donald Thompson of Houston; and Wayne Serville of Corpus Christi, Tx., his maternal uncle L.O. Terry (Jewel) of Missouri City, Tx., and host of cousins, in-laws, friends and family.
