Daphne was born December 5, 1958, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to the union of Verda Mae and Oscar Davis Jones, Sr. She gave her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age and worked in the Lord's vineyard until her health failed her. Daphne graduated from Moody High School and was in the marching band as a drum major. She was a take charge person and gave her all each time she gave. She continued her studies in Houston, Texas, while attending Texas Southern University.

Daphne was preceded in death by her parents, Verda Mae and Oscar (O.D) Jones, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories: her son Quinton Dillard; granddaughter Kayla; brother Oscar Davis Jones, Jr (Michelle), Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, and a hosts of cousins and close family and friends.
