Clarence "Bubbie" Hoodye Jr., aged 71, peacefully departed this world on January 20, 2024, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on May 27, 1952, to Clarence Hoodye Sr. and Johnnie Mae Hoodye in Corpus Christi.
As a man of deep faith, Clarence was baptized at St. John's Baptist Church Greenwood by Reverend Branch. He loved the Lord and continued to serve Him throughout his life.
Educated at Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi, Bubbie briefly served in the United States Army and later worked at ExxonMobil. Known for his passion for music, particularly the tunes of Tyrone Davis, Marvin Gaye, and TK Soul. He was also an enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys fan who enjoyed watching sports. Additionally, Bubbie found joy in reading and made a point of sending heartfelt birthday wishes to his family. Bubbie is fondly remembered by family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Cedrick Hoodye (married to Nikki Hoodye) and Clarence Hoodye III, also known as Trey (Rosana Garza), Bubbie leaves behind a legacy cherished by his siblings: Dorsey Allen (Martin Allen), Marion Kay Hoodye, Katherine Walker, Gerry Hoodye, Carl Bruce Hoodye, Lavern Hoodye, as well as grandchildren Jarell, Trezmen, and Connor Hoodye. His nieces, nephews, and cousins also join in celebrating his life. Bubbie was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Johnnie Mae Hoodye, and his brothers Johnny and Dwight Hoodye.
