Christopher, "Baige," was called to his eternal resting home August 30, 2021, at the age of forty-nine after a short illness. He was born on January 21, 1972, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Lewis Vurns and Wanda Britt.

Chris was a former member of St. John Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Harold T. Branch and Rev. Wellington A. Johnson.

Chris was a graduate of W. B. Ray High School and served in the United States Navy. He was employed by  Gateway Printing Office Supply.

Chris was a die hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He loved dancing and socializing and was always available for his family. He was dedicated coach and board member of the Corpus Christi Youth Football league and loved the young men that came through the ranks of football under his instruction.

Chris is preceded in death by his father, maternal grandmother, Clarice Allen, paternal grandmother, Claudia Mae Caldwell, brother, Elvin, and a number of paternal and maternal aunts and uncles.

Chris leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Wanda Britt, sons, Christian (Brittany), Tristan (Abigail), Cameron, and KeShaun; daughters, Ashley and Amaya; sisters, Amanda, Ebony, and Chantel; Brothers, Patrick (Vanessa), Antuanne (Vanessa), Lewis (Turchana), grandchildren, Kehlani, Josiah, Kayja, Skylar, and Kyhlee, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched.
