Celebration of Life
Sis. Carolyn Dean Eatmon-Body
"Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing."--2 Timothy 4:8, ESV

Carolyn Dean Eatmon-Body, the beloved daughter of the late Mr. Carl Dean and Mrs. Billie Jean Eatmon, Sr., stuck her sword in the sandy shores of time to study war no more on Saturday April 29, 2023. As a faithful child of God, she now knows as she has always been known, through the eyes of pure love, in the presence of the Almighty.

"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."--Psalm 127:3
Born November 22, 1959, Carolyn is the 6th child of 10, who grew up in a close-knit family unit, loving one another, moving daily, together, as one body, for their good and God's glory.

She received her state-certified Nursing Assistant certification from Del Mar College; and lived her entire 30+ career as a key player on mental health treatment teams, working directly with patients who were coping with disabilities, illnesses, or substance use.  She dedicated her career to helping those to better help themselves. She was passionate, compassionate, dedicated, dependable and reliable, and devoted her life to being the constant support for those in need of love and care the most. She committed her whole life to serving the Lord by serving God's "least of these". She was not shy in praise and worship, nor in witness of God's amazing grace and goodness. She stood ready ministering hope, uplift, compassion and encouragement to weary, worn and sad souls, many times, even as she was grieving and sad and experiencing trials. She lived her life loving by serving, faithfully.

"Then the Lord God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him."-- Genesis 2:18
Kenneth Murl Body met, courted, and married his "good thing". To their union, the most beautiful baby girl was born, Kenitra Jana Body. Carolyn fully and freely, and unconditionally, loved, nurtured, supported, and encouraged her daughter. Her heart was big and full of love to give; and she poured out her spirit and love without hesitation.

"I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return]."--Philippians 1:6 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Carolyn served God, with devotion, fire and faithfully, from a wee child. A little-known fact: Carolyn had a beautiful voice. She wasn't a public "Gladys" like Janice. She was content with being a "Pip", a constant, dependable, in sync, didn't miss a beat or cue, solid support, solid backup. This was true in song; but, even more so in life and daily living.
She had the best sense of humor; and one could not be around her without laughing. She was blessed with a tender heart and a beautiful soul. And when times were unsure and uncertain in her own life, she remained assured of one good thing:  God was still in control; so, she held on and kept on serving, praying, hoping, faithing, trusting and believing, and, yes, singing.
Sis. Eatmon-Body was a faithful, committed, devoted member of the Calvary First Baptist Church, her entire life. She loved her church family, serving God and God's people.
"We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work."--John 9:4
When life hailed its storms, she was always anchored by and assured, if unsure of many things, in knowing what God had called and purposed for her life. She was always quick to say, "I am okay." God really did make her for service "to the least of these". She really knew and believed her life was in God's hands. She loved the Lord with her whole heart; and the Lord loves her. This, we know without a shadow of doubt.
She leaves us all, as a remnant, bearing witness and testimony of her life that she lived serving, while it was day, in her family, amongst her friends, her church family, and her Memorial Hospital community.
Well, night has come. She is already missed.

"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."--I Corinthians 13:12-13

She is greeted in pure love by her father and mother: Carl Dean and Billie Jean Eatmon; her sisters: Glenda Fay Duhart, Helen Jean Duhart, and Janice Faye Eatmon-Stoney; and brother: Larry James Duhart; but, most of all, Jesus.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Kenneth Body; her beloved daughters and son: Kenitra Jana Body, Deshawn Jamella Body; and, Brandon (Lameka Hardeman) Body; four grandchildren; Samariah Brielle Body, Journey Katour Simmons, Kyron Liam Lawson, and Ashley Khamaralyn Lawson; her siblings: Patricia (Earnie) McNair, Cheryl (Horace) Woodard, Carl Lee Eatmon, Jr., Sheila Eatmon, Rachel (Chris) Eatmon-Hall; two maternal aunts and one uncle: Leona (Cookie) McCollough, Patsy Smith, and Rickey (Ann) Walker; six paternal aunts and one uncle:  Arlie C. (Jimmy) Bullard, Mae Lois (Howard) Jenkins, Icy Lee Williams, Juanita (Leon) Rischer, Benita Jackson, Helen (Bernard) White; Joe Earl (Erma) Eatmon; and, a set of awesome nieces and nephews who looovvved their Aunt CoCo:  Guy Polk, Christopher (Michelle) Polk, Joseph Polk, Amber Polk, LaTrisha Laws-Winston, Andrew (Samilla) Laws, III, Eldridge (Anne) McNair, William McNair, Candace (Dominique) Woodard-Jackson, Christina (Horace) Woodard Lewis, Chelsea Woodard, Chloe Stoney, An'Drea Jackson, Sade Eatmon, Darius Eatmon, Mykayla Eatmon, Nehemiah Coleman, Michelle Hall, Catherine Hall and Olivia Hall; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt CoCo, relatives, and friends.

Rest, sister. Love remains. God remains faithful. We still trust you, Lord.
