Obituary

Cain Allen, Jr. passed away on September 4, 2015. He was born on September 24, 1928 in Oakwood, Texas. He was a retired Longshoreman with local 1226. Cain was a U.S. Army Veteran. Other previous employment were with the railroad and Reynolds Metals Company. He attended Dunbar High School in Oakwood, TX. where he played basketball, baseball and ran track. He loved to watch sports and western movies. He was a fantastic gardener. He had the most beautiful garden. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. As a child and young adult, he was a member of Andrew Chapel Baptist Church in Oakwood, Texas. He was presently a member of St. John Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. Cain was very active in his church until his health failed him. Some of his church activities that he was involved in and positions held were Small Group Ministry(Dept 4, Adult 4), Training Union, Chairman of the Trustees, Brotherhood, Usher Board and Deacon Emeritus. He attended Bible Study and any other type of training that the church provided. He would travel out of town with the church and take a Van load of ushers with him. Cain loved his church and before he became ill, there was no better place that he loved to attend. He was a good and faithful member. He was very generous, kind and loving. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leona and Joe Nathan Allen, Sr., Grandpa, Cain Allen, Step-Mother, Roberta Allen, Step-Father, Israel Bostic, Son, Wayne C. Eaglin: Brothers; Joe Nathan Allen, Jr., McKinney Allen, James Henry Allen, and Osie Allen. Sisters; Pearl Ruth Allen Lewis, Joe Etta Allen Johnson, Geneva Allen, Irene Allen Brown, Ida Lee Bostic, Patricia Allen Lewis, Evelyn Allen Lewis, Barbara Ann Allen Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his loving and devoted wife Audrey Allen, Sons; Gary C.( Gail) Allen, Gerald V. (Sandra) Allen, Jerry Wayne (Susan) Allen, Daughter; Linda J. (George) Hodge; Grandchildren; Tasha Jackson, Gary C. Allen, Jr. (Janice), Casey Allen, Gerald V.Allen, II, Amber Allen, Vince Allen, Elizabeth Allen, Ciera Garrett, Krystal Garrett, Natalya Allen ( Marcus), Jerry Wayne Allen, Jr. Marcus Huff, and 11 Great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to Westwood Manor Senior Care Center, Julie Levingston, Deacon Raymond Davis, Deacon John Davis, Robert Burnside, Victor Rodriguez, Adelita and Raymond Gonzales, Linda and Lloyd Young, Dorothy Great-house, Linda Cozart, Annie Malone. Special cousin, Willie Albert Dorsey and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church, 5445 Greenwood Dr. with Pastor Derrick Reaves, officiating.

Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
