A daughter was born to Nathaniel Hawkins and Josephine Waring on May 23, 1925. They named her Bobbie Mae in Freeport, Texas. She later moved to Aransas Pass, Texas where she met and married Rev. Allen Otis Gary in 1951. She graduated from Del Mar College School of Vocational Nursing in 1971. She worked as a L.V.N. for over 40 years in various nursing homes. After the passing of Rev. Gary she relocated to Beaumont, Texas where she resided until the Lord called her home on April 20, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, her siblings, and two daughters, Julia Lucille Gary and Rosa Lee Gary.

She is survived by her children, Mrs. Estell Hollins of Aransas Pass, Woodson Thompson of Freeport, Patricia (Rocky) Rouse, Gayna Thomas, and Brenda Gary all of Beaumont, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary First Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
