Obituary

On Tuesday, December 13, Alicia Olvera, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and most importantly Woman of God passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was 66 years " Young" as Alicia would say. Born to Benancio and Edubiges Gonzalez in Brownsville TX.  Alicia graduated from Instituto Biblico Getsemani and utilized her schooling to be involved in the Church where she helped in several different ministries. Whether the church needed a volunteer to be the clown for a church festival or a guest speaker at a conference, Alicia was always willing to volunteer. Alongside her husband, Jose Luis Olvera they happily lead children' ministry for several years. They were happily married for 36 years. Alicia was an active church member. She is known for many things (having the best decorated house, watching Christmas movies in October and putting up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving; what stood out the most in Alicia was the love she had for her family and how she went above and beyond for them especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Jose Luis Olvera, Son Randy Dierlam and his Wife Rosalinda Dierlam, Son Jose Luis Olvera JR. and his Wife Eliza Olvera, Son Christopher Olvera and his Wife Kassandra Olvera, Daughter Samantha Olvera, Eight loving grandchildren, Brother Jose Antonio Gonzalez and his Wife Blanca Gonzalez, Sister Diana Gonzalez, Sister Flor Estela and Husband Terry Hawkins, Brother Benancio Gonzalez and Wife Hilda Gonzalez, Sister in Law Oralia Gonzalez and is preceded in death by her brother Arnoldo Gonzalez. The services will be held Monday December 19, 2022 at the Lord is Peace Church 4730 Kostoryz Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78415 from 10:00 – 11:00am for the Public Viewing with Funeral Services following immediately after; on Tuesday December 20 th at 3:00pm the Burial will be held at Memory Gardens 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78415.
